drift button

OK, so I may have joked about ricers and their drift buttons, but I’m pretty sure the guys in the videos below actually have them.  Check out the links below, or better yet search for ’saudi drifting’ on youtube.

BenQ V2400W = Heaven

Just received my V2400W today.  Cost me $404.00, but I think it’s worth every penny.  If you’re in the market for a 24″ LCD, I highly recommend this screen.

D.C. trip!

Finally found some time to post about the D.C. trip.  What an awesome 5 nights.  Here’s a brief re-cap of the 5 night adventure:

  • Arrive at 7:00; intoxicated by 10:00
  • Visit and swim in the ocean for the first time
  • Hit up the coolest bar / restaurant / club I’ve ever been to (Hello, Seacrets)
  • Slice the end of my toe off and bleed EVERYWHERE
  • Watch the 4th of July fireworks from the hill in front of the Lincoln Memorial
  • Georgetown SUCKS!
  • Walk at least 15 miles visiting the various sites in D.C.
  • Adams Morgan is a blast
  • Relax with a couple bottles of wine on the last night
  • Fly home with a 1 hour delay at DCA

All in all, an awesome trip.  Thanks a bunch to Jason for letting us crash at your place, and for showing us around the city.

Somebody help, I’m drowning in bullshit!

I’ve had about all I can take from Hillary Clinton and her campaign. The shit that spews out of their mouths day in and day out is piling up so deep that I feel like I’m drowning in it. I can’t even decide where to start with this rant, so I’ll just start rattling things off as I think of them:

  • “We’re ahead in the popular vote” - Wait, WHAT?! Latest numbers from RCP show Obama with a 500,610 vote advantage (1.7%). Oh wait that’s right, she’s counting Michigan and Florida which lost their delegates after breaking the rules and having their primaries early. You know, the same Florida and Michigan that Clinton agreed shouldn’t count back at the beginning of the primary season. The same Florida and Michigan that Obama did not campaign in. The same Michigan that Obama was not even on the freaking Ballot. For Clinton to claim that these primaries somehow count, or are in any way meaningful the way they stand is ridiculously absurd.
  • Speaking of the popular vote… who cares? This race isn’t about who wins the popular vote, it’s about delegates. Even the Clinton campaign agrees… you know, back when she was ahead in the delegate count. Not to mention, one of Obama’s strongholds has been the caucus states, and the popular vote cannot even begin to be represented by those numbers.
  • “Debate watch, Day 1″ - I suppose the 21 debates that you’ve already had didn’t quite get all the issues out on the table, eh? Of course the Clinton campaign wants to have more debates (can you blame them after that amazing ABC debate? Maybe Bill can moderate the next one). I’d want to have more debates too if my campaign was $10 million in debt. Oh I’m sorry, $0.00 in the bank since they allegedly raised $10 million since the PA win.
  • “Obama is unelectable and a weak opponent for McCain” - Oh, really? As John Cole puts it:

If Barack is such a bad candidate, and he is so unelectable, and it is such a bad idea to have him as the Democratic nominee, why can’t Hillary beat him?

Why is she behind him in every conceivable metric? Why is she behind in pledged delegates? Why is she behind in the popular vote (and don’t insult my intelligence by trying to pass that sheer nonsense the morons at certain pro-Clinton blogs are lapping up)? Why are super delegates flocking to Obama, while Hillary has picked up only a handful in the past few months. Why has she won fewer states? Why is she trumpeting her narrow delegate pickup in PA, when it is less than the number of net delegates Obama picked up in a variety of other states? Why is she behind in fund raising? Why was she unable to turn her double digit lead a year ago into any actual primary wins? Why, with her starting financial advantage and name recognition, was she held to a tie on Super Tuesday?

Why to those questions and a hundred more like them. If your candidate is so much better, why is Obama kicking her ass? Why?

The answer is simple really, just ask kos:

Because IF Obama wasn’t black, and IF millions of people weren’t supporting him, and IF he didn’t raise all that money, and IF his campaign hadn’t been run better than hers, and IF Red states hadn’t had the gall to vote, and IF those damn activists didn’t disagree with her on war in Iraq and nuking Iran, and IF MoveOn wasn’t so effective, and IF latte sippers didn’t vote, and IF we had the same system as Republicans, and IF the news networks weren’t more like Fox News, and IF small states that don’t matter didn’t count, and IF Keith Olbermann didn’t have it out for her, and IF Pennsylvania was the only state that mattered — then Clinton would be the nominee.

I can only hope this whole mess is over in two weeks when Obama carries Indiana and North Carolina. If the Superdelegates decide to rob Obama after he finishes with more pledged delegates (which, I might add, is a SURE thing), we’ll be swearing in a new Republican President in January.

D.C. here we come

Well, sort of.  Booked the tickets for the D.C. trip last night.  It’s about time that I make my way out to D.C. after having friends living there for two years now.

Tracy Morgan > Tina Fey

In case you missed SNL last night, I’ll highlight the best part for you right now:

… bitch. It’s nice to see SNL finally lay off the Obama hating, but it’s pretty lame that it took them three weeks and a lot of criticism to do it.

Redesign… again!

Once again, boredom has led to another re-design of this blog. After using drupal for a good few months I leave it with the impression that it’s not really meant for blogs such as this one. Drupal is really powerful and allows a lot of customizations, but I wouldn’t use it for a simple blog such as this one. I went with a very simplistic design, but I’ve also been able to embed my gallery into this installation too. If you’re not liking the embedded gallery, you can still reach the stand-alone version here.

As you can see, I’ve simplified my Nike+iPod stats on the sidebar, and I’ve also included a CSS banner for Obama. Click here for instructions on adding the Barack Obama banner to your blog/site.
